    Review:
"What this video may lack in slick special effects is more than compensated for with a wealth of information instructing viewers on how to prepare to orally interpret a literary piece. The narration is well organized and supported with clear titles that predict the direction the narrator will take. The script defines oral interpretation, distinguishes it from acting, explains how it helps in the appreciation of literature and builds self confidence, and suggests a sequence of events needed to prepare the piece. Numerous examples of student performances demonstrate the seven elements of performance: volume, rate, pronunciation, voice quality, physical expression, appearance, and eye contact. Steps in the rehearsal process are also recommended such as literature analysis, writing a solid introduction, memorizing, and choreographing. Speech teams will find this a valuable resource as an initiation to the oral interpretation categories in which students compete such as dramatic interpretation, humorous interpretation, and reader's theater, especially since this is a subject about which few other videos have addressed."
